We collect the following information when you use ScrapScore:

Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password when you sign up
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never store your card details
Usage data — VINs you analyze, lookup history, and feature usage
Technical data — IP address, browser type, and device information
Referral data — referral codes used during signup

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the ScrapScore service
To process payments and manage your account credits
To send important account and service notifications
To respond to customer support requests
To prevent fraud and ensure platform security

4. VIN Data

VINs you submit are used to generate parts analysis reports. VIN lookups are decoded using the NHTSA public database. We store your lookup history to power your History tab and improve our service. We do not share individual VIN lookups with third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Stripe — for payment processing
Supabase — for secure database storage
Anthropic — for AI-powered parts analysis (no personal data is included in AI requests)
NHTSA — public VIN decoding API

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and row-level security on our database. Your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Export your lookup history
